Does Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services GP Work

Hi,

I have some users that I wanted to allow to connect through Remote Desktop. I added the users to a group and then added to group to ‘Computer Configuration’->Policies->’Windows Settings’->’Security Settings’->’Local Policies’->’User Rights Assignment’->’Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services’ in active directory. These users are however still unable to log on.

If I run ‘rsop.msc’ on the workstation the policy is present.

Now if I instead go into remote settings on the workstation and add the same user group everything works OK.

I had thought that adding the user group through this policy would be the same as adding it through the remote settings on the workstation.

What does ‘Allow log on through remote desktop services’ do if not this?
