Is anyone using Cygwin for ssh on 2012 R2? I’m looking for a way of granting domain group access. I’m not sure how it works behind the scenes. In the older version cygwin service needed to run under a domain account to allow domain user access. In the new version this doesn’t seem to be a limiting factor. I can add domain users to the /etc/passwd file and the user will log log on via ssh just fine. I tried something similar with a domain group adding a domain group to the /etc/group file but in this case with no luck. For what I know the new cygwin doesn’t need the passwd and group files anymore but then it’s not clear for me how one can control who has access.
