I just recently did a post about my issues trying to connect to my PIX VPN with the builtin Win7 VPN client. As an alternative while I wait for a solution to this issue, I tried the Cisco VPN client on a Win7 laptop. It connected fine and I can ping resources on the internal network, but I cannot connect to any of them. Trying to connect to the shares on the servers using either IP address or hostname times out; and Outlook keeps trying to connect but no luck.
Here are my settings:
Cisco VPN Client:
Transport – IPSEC
Group Authentication is set with the correct group and password
Enable Transparent Tunneling is unchecked
Allow Local LAN Access is checked
PIX 501 VPN Settings:
CISCO VPN CLIENT SETTINGS
Group Name is set
Nothing is set under ADVANCED
POOL INFORMATION is set
PRIMARY/SECONDARY DNS, WINS is set
DOMAIN is set
Nothing is set under MANAGED SLPIT DNS or MANAGE SPLIT TUNNELING
ENABLE PFS is unchecked
Any help is greatly appreciated.
