VMware’s PowerCLI is a PowerShell module for managing the VMware platform. While limited in its initial scope subsequent releases have grown significantly more capable and now PowerCLI provides 600 cmdlets that are able to manage most vSphere functions as well as VSAN, vCloud and vRealize Operations Manager. The main feature in the latest release is the VMware HCX module for hybrid cloud management. The VMware HCX module enables you to move your workloads in and out of the cloud, schedule migrations with HCX vMotion and use replication assisted vMotion for bulk migrations.
You can learn more about the PowerCLI 11.2 release at the VMware PowerCLI Blog . You can download the latest PowerCLI version from VMware PowerCLI. If you already have PowerCLI you can update your modules using the Update-Module VMware.PowerCLI command.
