    Hi All,

I need your inputs in getting resolution to this.

I am trying to trouble shoot this from past 2 days

    Here is my lab setup

Everything is on VMWare Workstation 6.5

    SRV1-DC-E2K3
    ForestRoot: microsoft.com
on Windows Server 2003 Ent SP 2
    Exchange 2003 Ent SP 2
    Outlook 2007 Build 12.0.4518.1014
    This box is GC/DC
    IP 10.0.0.2
    Subnet mask 255.0.0.0
    No Default Gateway
    DNS 10.0.0.2 / .3

    SRV2-DC-E2K7
    ChildDomain: IT.microsoft.com
    n Windows Server 2003 Ent SP 2
Exchange 2007 Ent SP 1 (Hub /Cas/ mailbox)
    Outlook 2007 Build 12.0.4518.1014
    This box is GC/DC
    IP 10.0.0.3
    Subnet mask 255.0.0.0
    No Default Gateway
    DNS 10.0.0.3 / .2

Both servers are on same subnet and same default first site

    It’s not RPC over HTTPS

    This is a new setup

Now on when i try to configure a user account which on Exchange Sever 2003, outlook fails with an error

“outlook cannot logon. verify you are connected to the network and are
using the correct server and mailbox name. The connection to Microsoft
Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online to complete this action.”

From owa users are able to xs their mail just fine

As a part of troubleshooting i have checked for replication errors, No errors
    Dcdiag / netdaig are clean

There is no related event generated when the error occurs

Since with no default gateway specified it can be an issue. So i have used the following registry DefConnectOpts = 0

I have also tried to force outlook to look on a particular GC using Closest GC and DS Server regkeys.

I have also Tried to use NTLM authentication method But no go :???:

It’s pretty simple environment don’t know where the things are broken.

Any further troubleshooting steps are welcome.
