We have a windows 2008 R2 terminal server in a windows 2003 domain. When a user logs into the terminal server their profile is created under c:Users.

I would like to move the profiles to d:Users. I have tried going into the local group policy editor (on the TS server) and change the “set remote desktop services user home directory” enabled and set it to location to local machine. The path is “d:Users” (without quotes)

Does anyone know if this should be working or if I need to make the change in another location?

    Thank you for any help.

You will learn:

  • Who should be allowed to be invited as a guest?
  • What type of guests should be able to access files in SharePoint and OneDrive?
  • How should guests be offboarded?
  • How should you determine who has access to sensitive information in your environment?
