    Hello everyone.

I am currently studying towards the CCNA Security certification but I have come across a few commands in the Cisco Press Certification guide which I cannot get to work. I am using a Cisco 857W ISR router running IOS version 12.4.15T9

The first couple are to do with creating a resilient IOS configuration as per below:

    Router (config)# secure boot-image
    Router (config)# secure boot-config

None of the above commands work or seem to be supported. I understand that you require a router with a PCMCIA slot in order to create a resilient image but wouldn’t the commands still be available?

The other commands are to do with the additional security enhancements:

    Router (config)# security password min-length
Router (config)# security authentication failure rate

These commands do not work either and it would appear that there is not even a “Router (config)# security” option available.

Am I doing something wrong or has anybody seen this before? Any help would be much appreciated as I am starting to get very confused.

    Thanks all
