A user has write permission to a particular folder and can copy a file into it. However, when they attempt to save a file from an Outlook attachment it fails with: “Cannot save the attachment. You do not have appropriate permission to perform this operation.”
The folder exists on a file cluster and we use the File Screen Mgmt feature. This particular file screen stipluates that only media files can be saved to this folder, the file the user is attempting to save is a .WAV.
If I change the file screen to “passive”, the user can save the attachment.
So, what I need to understand is … what is Outlook doing to the file during the save attachment process? I am guessing it must be trying to save it as a different format initially and thereby triggers the file screen on the cluster.
