I have WIN 2003 R2 SP2 Domain Controller and 20 PC’s WIN XP SP3 as members of this domain.

I am aware of the function of Deep Freeze software to avoid any unnecessary changes, programs installations. If any thing is installed on a PC which have deep freeze installed then once computer is restarted it goes back to original state.

I need to ask experts what results we achieve by using Deep Freeze, can those results be achieved by applying restrictions through group policy? based on suggestions of experts I will take decide whether to proceed with purchase of Deep Freeze OR not.

If possible to achieve results through group policy then please guide me what most common necessary settings are needed. Also domain users logging to PC’s should have only user group rights on local PC?

    Kind Regards,
