M365 Changelog: Announcing retirement of Compliance Manager (classic) in the Service Trust Portal

MC246738 – As announced both in-product (February 4, 2021) and via documentation, we will soon retire Compliance Manager (classic) from the Microsoft Service Trust Portal.

We recommend using Compliance Manager within the Microsoft 365 compliance center, the specialized workspace for compliance, privacy, legal, and risk officers. It has improved user experience, the ability to extend Compliance Manager use across your assets, and enhanced workflow and assignment options. We are committed to continually enhancing the solution capabilities for Compliance Manager in the Microsoft 365 compliance center.

How this will affect your organization

Customer data will not automatically transfer over to the new Compliance Manager solution when Compliance Manager (classic) is retired.

What you need to do to prepare

Customers who are managing compliance activities in Compliance Manager (classic) will need to move their data, including assessments and controls, to the new Compliance Manager solution in the Microsoft 365 compliance center.

Global administrators, compliance administrators, and compliance data administrators should go to https://compliance.microsoft.com and sign in.
